











1842 Ewen Cameron's Texas Volunteer Company Roster
DESCRIPTION
Circa September 1842, this is a Roster of new and old members of “Cameron's Compy,” including Samuel Walker. Many of those names listed on the Texas Volunteer roster handwritten by Israel Canfield went on to be part of the disastrous Mier Expedition.
Organized into two columns – sixteen names of “Old Members” and twenty-four names of “New Members” – in all, forty names are listed, including Samuel Walker, Israel Canfield, John McMullen, Peter Lusk, and William Van Horn.
"Spy" and "Dead" are written next to some names in pencil, making this an incredibly unique antique document of Texas history.
